ScanX® Computed Radiography Systems

When a larger field of view is required, ScanX CR systems produce high-resolution images that are ready for viewing in 35 seconds, without the delay and added cost of film processing. The phosphor storage plates provide fields of view up to 10" x 12". Readers are available in both a high-contrast format with a 50 micron laser spot size and a high-resolution format that provides a 14 micron spot size. Resolution is from 7 lp/mm up to 20 lp/mm in contact mode. The software is DICOM conformant and all fields are configurable for NDE applications.

One Scan, Read & Erase. CR systems utilize any brand of blue or white phosphor storage plates in place of film. These flexible plastic plates are coated with an x-ray sensitive material that can be erased and reused thousands of times. No changes in x-ray exposure settings are required. The phosphor storage plates are automatically erased as the image is scanned. When exposed to x-rays, the plates store an image which is scanned by the ScanX laser and transmitted to a computer where Faxitron’s DX 1.0 software produces a high-resolution DICOM image. Images can also be saved as JPEG and TIF files. The DX software utilizes proprietary ImageAssist™ technology to produce optimal images. When used with Faxitron MX-20 and LX-60 systems the software provides full control of the x-ray process, including kV and exposure time.
